The person that wrote these reviews is a, well I'll just say it, a genius. Why can't all reviewers be like this? Someone that understands that not all movies have to have some kind of rigidness in order to be considered good. Maybe this movie wasn't meant for you, maybe this movie was made for a very specific audience, so just because that one reviewer doesn't like it or doesn't get it doesn't mean the movie isn't good in it's own very specifically engineered-tailored way. This reviewer understood, finally a reviewer that does, that these movies are meant to be fun. That's it! The books are really cute and the movies are equally as cute albeit different. For book lovers, please allow certain differences and liberty-taking in storylines, don't compare the books to the movie version or you'll be disappointed every time. They're separate mediums that just happen to be about the same thing so please take it for what it is and enjoy it for that as well. And to the reviewer---Right On !

Frasier seems to genuinely enjoy being in big, special-effects-heavy family adventure movies, which is a rare thing for an actor.

I agree that this is not a bad thing - for one, I kinda like the Mummy movies, and Frasier's uniquely suited (it might be that he is the Greatest Living Canadian) at playing genuinely decent, good-hearted heroes. And every now and again (see "The Quiet American") he can subvert that image to great effect.
