TQP Musical Friday
Capping off our inadvertant musical theatre theme week, here’s a few videos for you, after the jump:
“They Call the Wind Mariah” from Paint Your Wagon (which apparently has yet to be remastered)
“Good Morning” from Singing in the Rain
“Epiphany” from Sweeney Todd
and, let’s see…
Ah, the classic “Waiting for Jefferson to finish banging his wife” song from 1776.
Next week will see a complete 180 in tone. I have no idea what the subjects will be, but, y’know. Manly topics.
Fightin’ bears and stuff.

“Ah, the classic ‘Waiting for Jefferson to finish banging his wife’ song from 1776.” Ha!
Are you implying that singing “Oh, what a beautiful mornin’ ” isn’t a classically masculine way of greeting the day? I rather liked “Musicals” week; boot-buffin’ masculine or not.

Ok, last comment, I PROMISE : Who’s going to see Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” ?
…and my final thought on the power of musicals and how they can reach the deepest depths of our collective humanity and respective beings:
“…I’m jist a girl who cain’t say no,
Kissin’s my favorite food
with or without the mistletoe
I’m in a holiday mood.
Other girls are coy and hard to catch
but other girls aint havin any fun
every time I lose a wrestling match
I have a funny feeling that I won…”
- Excerpt from “I’m Just a Girl who Can’t Say No” of “Oklahoma!”
