ROTJ had exhausted our tolerance for this sort of thing in the first half-hour of the film with all the Jim Henson business at Jabba’s. But they’ve aged well with time, particularly in comparison to what followed. Or proceeded. Or whatever. I hate the prequels is what I’m trying to say.

Examples: “Gremlins”, a thousand evil doll movies, those that included cute-but-deadly alien creatures and growing anime (Kawaii) influences.

I love that Ewoks are adorable but very capable of devouring you. As a bonus, Ewoks provide the opportunity for a little reality lesson about interacting with wild critters. Squirrels can scratch your eyes out and Koalas will eat your face if you bother them too much. Kids should know stuff like that.
