Lois Tilton! It is because — AS IS OUR WORLD — Cresy’s world is COMPLICATED, and she only understands PORTIONS of it. Cresy is familiar with the Loogaroo in his aspect as a mythical entity, and with “bogeymen” insofar as they exist in STORIES, but doesn’t actually know what they are.

It occurs to me I’ve never seen a review of a short story. Are they all broken down into a three-paragraph “here is the plot; here is an excerpt; here is my minor nitpick” structure?
