Inbetween drawing the next exciting issue of HAND OF DANGER! (this one has ninjas, which, turns out, are just a bitch to draw!), Chris and I have been discussing another long-form project/writing exercise.
This is not a teaser, exactly – but it does show that I did a Google image search for “cephalopod.” That should give you some indication about the relative normality of what we’re hashing out.

Not a lot of things in nature freak me out, but…sea-creatures are somehow both prehistoric AND science fictiony. And that wigs me right the hell out.
Which is to say NOTHING about jellyfish. Wuuuugggghhh.
You know, in the mythology of the Hawaiian natives, the cuttlefish–which have super-amazing eyes and can change the colors of their skin in an instant–and squid were creatures that belonged to the previous incarnation of the world, and survived when it was destroyed to be replaced by ours.
I always thought that was fascinating.
