The American Doctor Who

I just wanted to bring this up because I was thinking about it (after watching the leaked clip of Craig Ferguson’s cold open for his Doctor Who episode):  America had a version of Doctor Who that fairly well captured the ideals of the British original, but also catered to American sensibilities (namely:  not liking history, liking explosions).

It was called MacGyver.
